How we met the objective

Designed by Lord Foster, the 505,000 sq ft office tower - an iconic part of the London skyline - was multi-let to 20 tenants at the time of sale. Following the receivership of its ownership structure, we were appointed to manage a high-profile, complex disposal while maintaining operational continuity and protecting value for stakeholders.

We designed and executed a targeted sales strategy to identify a buyer for the Gherkin, while ensuring uninterrupted building operations and strong tenant relationships. A global marketing campaign was launched with a coordinated press release and international registration, followed by investor roadshows across three continents. In just three weeks, the team met over 60 prospective buyers.

The campaign drew significant interest from global capital sources, leading to a successful sale of approximately £726 million - the largest single-asset transaction in London that year. All five senior lenders were fully repaid.

The transaction highlighted our ability to combine capital markets expertise with the demands of complex receivership processes.
